Terms and Conditions for SV Packers & Movers
1. Definitions
- Company: SV Packers & Movers
- Customer: The person or entity contracting with the Company for relocation services.
- Goods: The items being relocated, excluding:
- Cash, valuables, jewelry, important documents
- Perishable goods
- Hazardous materials (flammables, explosives, etc.)
- Vehicles (see clause 6 for vehicle transport)
- Services: Packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and unpacking of Goods.
- Quotation/Estimate: A non-binding agreement between the Company and the Customer outlining the services and costs.
2. Services
The Company will provide relocation services according to the agreed-upon quotation.
- Normal working hours: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays). Extended hours may be available upon request.
3. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide a detailed inventory of Goods for quotation purposes.
- Drain fuel tanks of motorcycles and scooters before transport.
- Ensure proper car fuel level (enough to drive on and off the transport vehicle).
- Disconnect and prepare appliances for moving.
- Dismantle or arrange dismantling of complex furniture (e.g., particle board furniture, air conditioners) if needed.
- Package valuables, jewelry, and important documents separately for safekeeping.
- Obtain necessary permits for restricted items (if applicable).
4. Company Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality packing materials and ensure safe packing of Goods.
- Load and transport Goods in a secure manner.
- Unload and unpack Goods according to the Customer’s instructions.
- Offer unpacking services upon request (additional charges may apply).
5. Estimates and Payment
- The Company will provide a written quotation outlining the estimated costs of services, including materials, labor, and transportation.
- The Customer must confirm the quotation in writing before the move commences.
- Payment terms will be specified in the quotation (e.g., upfront deposit, payment upon delivery).
6. Vehicle Transport
- Customers are required to provide copies of relevant vehicle documents (registration, insurance).
- Vehicles must be in operational condition for driving on and off the transport vehicle.
- The Company is not responsible for pre-existing vehicle damage.
- Any damage during transport will be assessed based on the agreed-upon valuation (declared value).
7. Insurance
- Basic insurance coverage may be included in the quotation.
- Customers can opt for additional insurance for higher value items.
- The Company will provide details of insurance coverage upon request.
8. Limitation of Liability
- The Company’s liability for any loss or damage to Goods will be limited to the declared value (unless gross negligence is proven).
- The Company is not responsible for loss or damage caused by events beyond its control (e.g., natural disasters, strikes, accidents).
9. Cancellation
- Cancellation fees may apply depending on the notice period provided by the Customer.
- Specific cancellation terms will be outlined in the quotation.
10. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions will be settled through mutual negotiation.
- If an agreement cannot be reached, the dispute will be settled according to the laws of [insert jurisdiction where the company is registered].
11. Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of [insert jurisdiction where the company is registered].
12. Entire Agreement
- These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Customer regarding the relocation services.
- Any prior agreements or understandings are superseded by these Terms and Conditions.
13. Amendments
- The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
- Any changes will be communicated to the Customer before the move commences.
By signing the quotation, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
